AU hoping to overcome defensive struggles
Auburn has a long and proud tradition on defense. But that defense has taken its share of lumps this season
The Tigers are ranked 67th in the country in total defense and have given up 163 points in six games (27.2 ppg), which is on pace to shatter the school record of 267 points allowed in 1967.
Last Saturday, Arkansas rolled up nearly 500 yards in a 44-23 win over the Tigers.
"We are really upset right now," senior defensive tackle Jake Ricks said. "I've been thinking about this since Saturday. This is not an Auburn defense."
The defense has struggled the most stopping the run giving up 164.7 yards per game, which ranks 84th nationally.
