Bruin hoops recruiting roundup
This Fall and Winter is proving to be the most unusual of recruiting seasons for Ben Howland's UCLA Bruins. In prior years most, if not all, recruiting needs were met during the November signing period. Due to a variety of circumstances, that is not the case this year. This is particularly true for point guards which are the Bruin's greatest need at the moment.
During the November signing period the Bruins landed 6-10 Joshua Smith from Kent, Washington and 6-4 wing Tyler Lamb from Mater Dei who will play the shooting guard position. Smith is arguably a Top Ten recruit with Lamb a Top 50 recruit. These signings are outstanding and should not be discounted. However, UCLA still did not land a point guard, and therein lays the problem.
