Stewart, Bulldogs ready for SEC slate
Logan Lowery
BulldogBlitz.com Mississippi State shooting guard Barry Stewart will make his fourth trip to Tad Smith Coliseum on the Ole Miss campus tomorrow.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pound senior has only won once on the Rebels home floor and knows his team will walk into a hostile environment in Oxford to open up Southeastern Conference play.
"I don't expect anything different Saturday," Stewart said. "I think it's going to be hard and tough up there in Oxford but I think our coaches will prepare us pretty good for them."
Even though the Bulldogs hold a 29-game edge in the overall series, the two instate rivals have split in each of the past four seasons.
"We are going to bring it every night and I know they are the type of team that is going to bring it every night," Stewart said. "And with the rivalry, it will be a tough place to play in and so is The Hump. I know going into their place it's going to be a tough environment and that will probably make a difference."
Ole Miss enters the SEC opener with a 12-2 record and ranked 14th in the country and are undefeated at home thus far this season.
