Wasonga hits the books
MORGANTOWN--The man who has advised most of the college prospects coming from Parkersburg High in recent years says stud running back Allan Wasonga is in good shape with the West Virginia coaching staff, but needs work on his grades.
Wasonga, a 5-foot-9, 195-pound Gatorade player of the year, has undergone some family turbulence in recent weeks, which has affected his academic status, according to PHS assistant coach Mark McCullough. McCullough has directed dozens of college athletes to a variety of colleges, either from the school or his summer kicking camps. With his help, Josh Jenkins, Cody Nutter and Matt Lindamood have matriculated to Bill Stewart's program in recent years. Jenkins enters his third year as an integral part of assistant Dave Johnson's line; Nutter is the second-year long-snapper, and Lindamood, a walk-on, played special teams in '09.
