Gilliard decides what he will do
After pondering a transfer from the Georgia football team, sophomore linebacker Michael Gilliard has made up his mind.
He'll remain in Athens.
"I'm staying," Gilliard said in a text to UGASports Thursday afternoon. "I'm a Dawg."
The news comes one day after Gilliard told the website that he was considering transferring from Georgia for undisclosed reasons.
But whatever reasons Gilliard might have had, there's no longer an issue and he will enter preseason drills at No. 2 on the depth chart behind Akeem Dent at Mike linebacker.
Gilliard appeared in 12 games for Georgia last year, collecting seven tackles, including a season-high three against Tennessee Tech.
