Meyer: Demps likely to play this weekend
With its game against No. 1 Alabama three days away, the Florida football team has received good news.
Starting tailback [DB]Jeff Demps[/DB], who sprained his left foot two weeks ago at Tennessee and then re-injured it last week against Kentucky, likely will play against the Crimson Tide on Saturday, Gators coach Urban Meyer said Wednesday.
"I'd say it's probable he'll play," Meyer said during a conference call for Southeastern Conference coaches.
According to Meyer, Demps no longer is wearing a protective boot on the foot. He will be "very limited in practice" Wednesday, but the team is hopeful Demps will be back to full strength by Thursday or Friday.
