Hunter: From Unknown to BCS Offers
It may seem inexplicable how a prospect in Katy, Texas can go unnoticed but living in the shadow of Texas giants Katy high can make attention tough to come by for a team coming off a 1-9 season. While the media attention may not yet be there for Morton Ranch defensive end Danielle Hunter (prounced duh-neel) that hasn't stopped coaches from flocking towards his unique talents.
At 6-foot-4 and 220-pounds Hunter is almost undoubtedly one of the biggest competitors in Texas high school track as he stars in both the 400-meter dash as well as the high jump.
"I was just walking down the hall one day and the coach said 'come out and play football'. Another coach came out and said, 'come run some track', so I did both. I high jump and run the 400. In the 400 my best is 52-seconds," Hunter said.
