David Smith is getting in position to cut down his list of scholarship offers.

The three-star running back from Midlothian, Ill., would like to make an initial cut in the next week or so that will leave all the BCS conference programs in play. Arizona, Boston College, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan State, Minnesota, Oregon State, Purdue, Vanderbilt and West Virginia have extended scholarship offers.
