V-Cast: Comp and PK check in from Chicago
CHICAGO - Thursday at the Big Ten Media Days featured a parade of head coaches at the podium to answering questions from hundreds of sportswriters about the upcoming Big Ten season.
Bo Pelini, Kevin Wilson, Jerry Kill, and Brady Hoke were making their first appearance at the annual event.
Pelini is in his fourth year as head coach of the Cornhuskers, but Kill Wilson, and Hoke area embarking on their first seasons at the helm of Big Ten programs.
Five years ago Mark Dantonio was in a position similar to those those four head coaches.
Dantonio was promoting a vision of Michigan State as a team that could go to bowl games every year and put itself in the conversation for a Big Ten title with hard work.
Michigan State has been to two New Year's Day Bowl games and is coming off an 11-2 season in which the Spartans claimed a share of their first Big Ten title in Twenty Years.
As the Spartans enter their fifth year under Dantonio, their head coach expects them to continue to build upon past success. Dantonio's confidence in his team as at a five-year high. He understands that his team has a lot of work to do, but he fully expects them to get the job done.
