VandySports.com Vanderbilt beat Ole Miss 65-53 on Saturday, advancing to the Southeastern Conference title game for the first time in 61 years. VandySports.com's Chris Lee has all the key details on how the Commodores got there.
Turning point: Early in the second half, it remained a back-and-forth game, with VU trailing by a point when John Jenkins went to the foul line for three shots with 14:12 left. Jenkins drained the first two shots, then missed the third, but Lance Goulbourne was there for the offensive rebound and the stick-back to put Vandy up, 35-32.
LaDarius White answered on the other end with a lay-up, but Dai-Jon Parker countered with a 3-pointer on Vandy's next trip.
