Tigers ready to start tourney journey
For the most part, the Missouri Tigers didn't know a whole lot about Norfolk State in the minutes after the first-round NCAA Tournament pairing was announced on Sunday evening.
"I know they're green and white," Michael Dixon Jr. said. "Before we played Old Dominion, we passed the University. That's about all I know about them."
Of course, there was one exception.
"They're a good team," Kim English said. "They finished second in their league behind Savannah State, a team we played last year or two years ago, but they've got a really big kid I don't think a lot of people know about, he's about 6-9 or 6-10, he averages 16 and 11 so they're a good team. I'm excited to start preparation for it."
English is Mizzou's resident basketball savant, a guy that knows more about the sport across the country than just about any player on any team. In fact, he even knew the Tigers were going to draw the Spartans before the crowd at Mizzou Arena found out.
