Jones reopens recruiting

HawkeyeReport.com Michigan safety Joshua Jones verbally committed to Toledo earlier this month, but a new scholarship offer today has him rethinking things. The 6-foot-2, 202-pound Jones has decided to reopen his recruiting following an offer from the Iowa Hawkeyes, which was his first from a BCS conference school.
"Yesterday, I talked to Coach Wilson from Iowa and he said they were having a recruiting meeting today, so he e-mailed me after that and told me to give him a call," said Jones. "When I did, he said they wanted to extend an offer. It was great news. I was really excited."
The next call that Jones made was to the Toledo coaching staff, who had been following the situation and understood that the three-star prospect was likely gone if a Big Ten school decided to offer.
