Tech overcame big obstacles
The Red Raiders are 4-0 and 1-0 in Big 12 Conference play just like they were last season.
But this year's Texas Tech football team showed a large audience they're not the same team as they were a year ago while defeating Iowa State, 24-13, Saturday in Ames, Iowa.

Tech came out on a mission and although the Cyclones got the best of the Red Raiders through most of the first half like they have now for the past three years but the team didn't get discouraged. See quarterback Seth Doege who threw a pick six and then stalled the ensuing drive with an interception at the Iowa State 28-yard line.
The Red Raider team that took the field in Ames wasn't the same one that didn't react to going down 24-0 nor reacted when they managed to tie the game up at 24-all like the 2010 version that visited Jack Trice Stadium.
They weren't the team that came out flat on the heels of a big upset win the week before the last time Iowa State visited Lubbock.
This Tech team had heart. It wasn't satisfied with a strong start in non-conference play and it wanted to get Iowa State off its back after dropping back-to-back games to the Cyclones...
