Louisiana Tech vs. UNLV matchups preview
Louisiana Tech (4-0) will host its second home game of the year when UNLV (1-4) comes to Ruston Saturday. Last week Tech were victorious in an extremely physical game against the Virginia Cavaliers 44-38. Tech had some defensive players go down with ankle injuries in starting DT Justin Ellis, starting LB Solomon Randle, and starting safety Chad Boyd. Boyd should be back for the UNLV game but do not be surprised if Sonny Dykes holds Ellis and Randle out this week in preparation for Texas A&M next week in Shreveport. UNLV has struggled to stop the pass this season which should have Tech's offense licking its chops. UNLV has yet to play any real stiff competition outside of Minnesota in week 1 which took triple overtime for Minnesota to escape with victory 27-30 and Utah State last week. It lost to FCS member Northern Arizona in week 2 14-17, Washington State in week 3 27-35, beat Air Force in week 438-35 and lost to Utah State last week 13-35.
