Now that it's over: Oklahoma State
Mississippi State dropped their opening game of the season against #13 Oklahoma State Saturday in the Texas Kickoff Classic in Houston. For MSU, it was the first time they played a top 25 team to open the season since 2007. With the loss, the critics got louder against Dan Mullen in the coaching staff as the Bulldogs fall to 2-17 against ranked opponents under the fifth-year head coach and scored three points for State's lowest scoring opening out-put against non-conference competition since 1981. It wasn't pretty.
Every week we will review what I said MSU had to do to win. On Saturday's before game I will drop the three keys to victory. This week I said the Bulldogs had to run the football, create "defensive mayhem" and play mistake-free football.
