The last of a dying breed
Recruits like Dallas (Texas) Lincoln defensive end Richetti Jones are turning into a dying breed in the state of Texas.
Just like the dodo bird and the dinosaur, it's getting tougher and tougher to find a recruit in the Lone Star State that's eager to go through the recruiting process and enjoy the spoils that come with being a high-profile recruit.
Indeed, in a year when seven of the state's top ten prospects have already given an oral commitment before the beginning of the spring evaluation period, Jones, who has about 15 scholarship offers, appears to be in this for the long haul.
According to Jones, the recent scholarship offerings from Florida and Florida State have given him something to think about.
Even if Jones isn't ready to pull the trigger on a commitment any time soon, he will be hitting the road in the next month to begin a string of summer camps and unofficial visits.
His plans include trips to Texas, Texas A&M, Florida and Oklahoma State.
