Vanderbilt lands 4th commitment in Chris Marve

On Monday, the Vanderbilt Commodores landed their fourth commitment of the 2007 class when Memphis, Tenn., linebacker Chris Marve pledged to the coaching staff. The 6-foot, 220 pound middle linebacker from White Station High school called his recruiting coach and they had some news for him.


"On Monday, I called Coach Belin and talked to him," says Marve. "Then I talked to Coach Johnson, and he said they were ready to offer me a football scholarship. And I gave them my commitment."


Marve, a two-time all-region selection for the Spartans, has totaled over 220 tackles the past two seasons and last season had 153 total tackles, with 120 solo tackles, 13 for loss, four sacks, five forced fumbles, and an interception that he returned for a 75 yard touchdown.
