Cameron Newton has a night to remember
Sir Isaac Newton's third law of motion states: For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Seeing as how he developed his three laws of motion in 1666, it isn't plausible that he had his namesake, Atlanta, Ga., Westlake dual-threat quarterback Cameron Newton in mind back then. However, if you were to ask former NFL All Pro Chris Carter or any of the receivers on hand for Florida's recent Friday Night Lights camp, they will attest to the fact that for every bullet Newton (the quarterback, not the scientist) threw, they indeed felt an equal and opposite reaction.
There were several 'pops' heard when the balls he threw met their intended target on Friday night. At one point it led Carter to comment 'he has it' referring to the young quarterback's arm strength.
The moment wasn't lost on Newton.
"That was a dream come true. I guess I'm blessed to be able to throw to a future Hall of Famer. He was a good guy. He was joking around with me, 'You're not ready for the Swamp, you're not ready for 90,000 fans. You're more ready to play for 30,000 or maybe 300 (fans).' He was impressive with how he carried himself."
