No huddle may be in Cats future
Of all the drill stations Kansas State players encountered during the first day of fall camp Saturday afternoon, one in particular led by first-year offensive coordinator James Franklin with pupils Dylan Meier, Josh Freeman and Allan Evridge en tow could baffle defenses and emit Fourth-of-July type excitement across Bill Snyder Family Stadium in the fall.
That is, of course, if the quarterbacks become quick-minded enough to handle Franklin's demands.
"Special six!" Meier yelled, poised behind a staff member acting as the center. "Special six!"
Meier took the ball, fell back in a three-step drop and threw diagonally left to right; hitting Freeman about 10 yards away.
"First play's in the huddle," Franklin barked. "After that, no huddle."
No huddle? What?
