Hamilton works on little things to move up
It's an unfair burden to call any of Iowa State's young receivers "the next Todd Blythe," but it is fair to say that redshirt freshman Marquis Hamilton possesses a lot of the same qualities.
After nearly playing as a true rookie a season ago, Hamilton is eager to get on the field for the Cyclones this fall. But he's not ready to be labeled as "the next" anybody.
"Which other receiver am I most like? Hmm, that's a good question," Hamilton responded Saturday at media day when asked about similarities between him and ISU's strong collection of veteran WRs. "I'm one of a kind, why don't you just say that?" he finished with a laugh.
Fair enough, Hamilton is Hamilton. But at an imposing 6-foot-3 and 217 pounds with a long stride, deceptive speed, good strength and leaping ability and soft hands, there's definitely a little Blythe in this Oklahoma City, Okla., product.
