Rain coach lauds Hudson's Trickett-like qualities
MORGANTOWN - Mobile (Ala.) B.C. Rain head football coach Anthony Shamburger talks about new commit Rodney Hudson as if he were a dream that WVU line coach Rick Trickett had.
Hudson, a 6-3, 285-pound athlete with 5.22 40 speed, played in the Alabama high school all-star game as a junior this summer at Troy University. He is a Mr. Alabama candidate in the state this season.
He is the first Rain alumnus to pledge to the Mountaineers. But if he signs on National Letter of Intent Day he will join Mobile area athletes on the roster that includes quarterback Pat White, safeties Abraham Jones and Trippe Hale and defensive lineman Warren Young. White's father is the fire chief in Pritchard, Ala., the home of Ham Jones.
Clemson, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and South Florida all have offered Hudson.
