Sun Devils suddenly may be extremely thin at QB
When Arizona State began its fall camp several weeks ago, it was said here and by many media outlets that this program had perhaps the best quarterback depth of any Division I school, with two players capable of being the starter almost anywhere else in the country. Now, with the departure of Sam Keller seemingly imminent, everything has changed and the Sun Devils will have true freshman Danny Sullivan -- their only other scholarship quarterback -- as the team's primary backup.
How did this happen?
Just a few years ago, the Sun Devils had senior Andrew Walter as their starter, with a then-sophomore Keller as the backup and Rudy Carpenter and Max Hall waiting in the wings, redshirting as members of the 2004 recruiting class.
