Secondary still up for grabs
With less than two weeks remaining until Texas A&M's season opener against The Citadel, one major question is repeatedly posed to coach Dennis Franchione: what's your starting secondary look like?
To this point, Franchione has declined to answer, and it may be with good reason. He may not know what it is yet, as his responses to questions Monday seem to indicate.
"We haven't given anyone a starting position yet," he said. "Competition's pretty good on the two-deep."
Franchione said that redshirt freshman Jordan Peterson has "had some good days at corner" and said that Danny Gorrer stood out during Saturday's scrimmage.
Newcomer Jonathan Batson, who is competing for one of the safety spots in the new 4-2-5 defense, has also "shown some flashes."
