Starting role suits Dexter Davis just fine
Arizona State defensive end Dexter Davis is the only redshirt freshmen who started for the team on either side of the ball in its home opener against Northern Arizona last Thursday and he's expected to run with the first team again on Saturday versus Nevada.
Davis had three tackles and one of the team's nine sacks against the Lumberjacks -- five different linemen were credited with a sack apiece -- and all things considered it was a solid performance for his first ever game played in an ASU jersey, much less his first start.
