Thompson is the man in the middle
Noseguard Josh Thompson limped through his sophomore campaign in 2005. After suffering a high ankle sprain against Georgia Tech in the season opener a year ago, the 6-foot, 300-pounder saw limited action in 10 games registering just four tackles.
In 2006, the fully-recovered Thompson isn't limping anymore. It showed last Saturday night.
Against Washington State, not only did Thompson record two tackles and plug the middle for most of the game, he did two things he had never done before at Auburn, both of which came on the game's first offensive play.
