Eight points from 0-2
Jamie Silva said it best.
"We're 2-0, but we're eight points away from being 0-2," Silva said Wednesday.
Think about it. At Central Michigan, the Eagles were a dropped pass away from a potential overtime - and escaped with a win. Then, last Saturday, BC survived a battle with Clemson and recorded one of the great wins in the history of the program.
But think about it - the excitement of a 2-0 start and a return to the Top 25 could easily have been 0-2. And that's something you can be sure the coaches are drilling into the heads of the players as they prepare for BYU this week.
Matt Ryan said the excitement of the post-game Saturday was tempered by Tom O'Brien telling his players, "We didn't play as well as we could have." It's not that the coach wasn't excited about this special win - the one that tied him for the all-time lead in coaching wins at the Heights - but O'Brien knows Clemson was able to do some serious damage to his team. And, of course, you never know what would have happened if Jolonn Dunbar not blocked that extra point in the second OT.
