Numbers tell stories in OU win
Oklahoma set some interesting records in their 59-0 win over Middle Tennessee on Saturday night. With an offensive explosion and defensive domination, several Sooners are finding themselves on the cusp of greatness.
Malcolm Kelly had a historic beginning while Adrian Peterson draws closer and closer to a major milestone. Paul Thompson also set a personal best and Bob Stoops added to his impressive collection of shutouts and blowout victories.
59 - The number of points scored by Oklahoma in their victory over Middle Tennessee. It marked the first time the Sooners have been over the 50-point mark since scoring 63 points against Houston in 2004.
5 - The number of turnovers forced by the Oklahoma defense. The last time the Sooners' defense forced five turnovers in a game was in 2003 against Texas Tech. Oklahoma picked off five passes in that game.
0 - The number of points scored by Middle Tennessee on Saturday. It marked the ninth shutout of the Bob Stoops era and the first since 2004 when Oklahoma blanked Baylor.
