Beavers look to right ship against resurgent Cougs
If the Oregon State football team was thinking things might get a little easier this Saturday, it better think again. That's because its opponent, Washington State, is no pushover. Just ask the coaches and players at Southern California. The Cougars gave No. 3 USC all it could handle before falling 28-22.
Junior wide receiver Michael Bumpus led WSU with a career-high 11 receptions for 112 yards. Meanwhile, star senior wideout Jason Hill added seven catches, 49 yards and a touchdown. His second-quarter score gave him 29 career touchdown catches, which extended his school record. Junior quarterback Alex Brink, a 2003 graduate of Sheldon High School in Eugene, completed 26-of-46 passes for 287 yards and two touchdown passes.
