UGASports caught up with linebacker coach John Jancek to talk about where the linebacker are at the midpoint of the season. UGASports: Can you talk about where Dannell Ellerbe is at this point in the season? Jancek: "He plays in some sub packages for us and has done a good job up to this point. Dannell has a lot of strengths and could be a really good player for us. He just needs to continue to grow, to get better, and to push himself each and everyday in practice." UGASports: Where does Danny Verdun fit into the linebackers since he is no longer a starter and he did not play much against Tennessee? Jancek: "We gave some other players opportunities in the last game, but Danny has shown great resolve and has handled himself like a real champion. He is not out of the mix at all and he is going to be in a rotation with those other guys and we will see what he can do Saturday." UGASports: Will you have the same starting linebackers Tony Taylor, Jarvis Jackson, and Brandon Miller for Vanderbilt? Jancek: "Yes." UGASports: How has Jarvis Jackson's foot responded this week given the problems he has had the last two weeks with his plantar fasciitis? Jancek: "He is doing fine now."
