NU Notes: McKeon and Octavien held out
Everybody knew going into the week that Nebraska junior linebackers Steve Octavien and Corey McKeon are banged up.
McKeon continues to nurse an ankle and a knee injury and Octavien is battling his way through a hamstring and an ankle injury.
On Wednesday, Nebraska head coach Bill Callahan said both Octavien and McKeon were backed down and did not go through any contact in practice.
"They were both backed down," Callahan said of his two injured linebackers. "They were a part of practice and they watched practice. They got all the mental reps for the game.
"It was our decision to back them down and keep them healthy so they could practice tomorrow and be ready for Saturday."
Another interesting thing Callahan addressed on Wednesday was about sophomore defensive end Barry Turner.
