Back to practice for the Bruins
One thing that you have to admire about this UCLA Bruin football team is even when they were going through that horrendous losing streak in October they never lost heart. They always came to practice with intensity and effort so now you can imagine how must fire there was out there during yesterday's practice.
Bruin coach Karl Dorrell was very pleased with his team's effort especially with all the down time the players had away from the field.
That doesn't mean the Bruins haven't been busy, they have. The school just finished finals.
Dorrell: "That was a good practice. I was impressed. I think they are excited that finals are over I know that. They had good work today and we will have another good day tomorrow. We have some recruits here too some of our top players that we have been recruiting here so it will be a fun weekend with ourselves getting ready for Florida State.
"It was a good start today. We'll go tomorrow (Saturday December 16th) we'll again Monday through Thursday until we leave then practice up there and a get a chance to keep building on what we built so far this season.
"We're 3-0 to end the regular season and we will try to get ourselves to 4-0 to finish the season that's the mindset of what our team is thinking about right now with finals done.
"We do have a couple of guys who are injured some. Chase Moline still has his back problems so we are trying get that calmed down. I think he will be cleared to start practice before Monday but for right now we are going to give him some more rest time.
Dorrell: "Dennis is sick.
"You know that Kenneth Lombard had his surgery to repair the ligaments that he had damaged. He will be recuperating and getting himself ready for the future.
"We're going to keep Patrick Cowan as the starter. We think that he's kind of deserving of that at this time. He finished the season 3-0 and he was the Most Valuable Player in our last game of the season so he deserves to finish the season.
