Evans set for 2007
Like most highly rated prospects, Bryan Evans came to Athens in the summer of 2005 expecting to make an immediate impact. While his presence was certainly felt from day one, it was not until this past season that he really made his mark on the Bulldogs. Now, he looks ahead to 2007 to continue the success of 2006.
"It was a hard fought game," he said after the second half comeback win over Virginia Tech in the Chick-fil-A Bowl.
Trailing 21-3 at half time, the Georgia offense exploded in the second half for 28 points while the Dawgs' defense held the Hokies to just three additional points.
"We were kind of tired of hearing about how their defense was the best," said Evans. "Their defense is a great defense, but I feel that we can match any defense any given day."
By comparison, Georgia gave up 130 yards in total offense in the first half to Virginia Tech's 47, but in the second half, the Bulldogs allowed just 50 while the Hokies surrendered 153 yards.
