Saban offers in-state OL
W.S. Neal offensive lineman Jared Cooper believed he had a pretty easy choice ahead of him when the 6-foot-4, 287-pound recruit received and accepted a scholarship offer to Auburn University. That was before a visit from the head coach of his life-long favorite team shook things up a bit.
Cooper and his family visited with new Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban Monday night and received some news that has complicated what was seemingly an easy decision. "Coach Saban offered me a scholarship to play for Alabama," said Cooper, who is currently recovering from a viral infection that is not considered to be serious. "It definitely gives me another serious option to consider. Right now, I am still an Auburn commitment, and I don't have a timetable or anything like that to decide."
