Round Rock wide receiver James Kirkendoll shocked the recruiting world last week when he decommitted from Oklahoma and a short time later gave Mack Brown and the Texas Longhorns a soft verbal commitment.

While his mind was made up to take his talents to Austin, Kirkendoll was holding off from calling himself an official Texas commitment until he had a chance to take his official visit and sit down with the UT coaches.
