When Brendan Beal was listening to Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis talk during the Irish junior day on Saturday, the 6-foot-3, 228-pound linebacker from Roxbury, N.J., couldn't help but to feel good about his chances of landing a scholarship from the Irish.

"Coach Weis made a speech about what he looks for in players he recruits," Beal said. "Everything he said is what I think of myself - I'm big, strong and fast and I'm smart."
