A new stable of running backs
Everyone knows about the changing of the guard at the quarterback position for LSU.
JaMarcus Russell, a two-year starter, passed up his final season of eligibility in order to make himself available for the NFL draft. Matt Flynn is expected to be the replacement for Russell, the possible No. 1 pick in the draft.
But, there will also be a changing of the guard at the running back position for the Tigers.
Joseph Addai and Shyrone Carey completed their eligibility after the 2005 season. Justin Vincent wrapped up his career back in the Sugar Bowl against Notre Dame. Alley Broussard's status with the program is questionable at best entering his last year.
That leaves last season's top rusher, Jacob Hester. However, Hester may spend most of his senior campaign at his normal fullback spot. If such an occurrence takes place, that means three 2006 signees would have progressed as desired.
