Dawsey making early impact on wide receivers
Throughout the 90's, Florida State was blessed with game-breaking wide receivers to carry the offense. Players like Lawrence Dawsey, E.G. Green, Peter Warrick, Andre Cooper, Kez McCorvey or Snoop Minnis could always be counted on to make a clutch catch or break off a huge play for the offense. But since the turn of the century, there has been a drop-off in both big plays and production from this unit.
Based purely on recruiting rankings, there should be plenty of talent at the position. Between 2001 and 2006, the 'Noles signed five five-star recruits and seven more that fell into the four-star category. The talent may be there on paper but it hasn't shown up much on the field, and that was very evident in 2006.
