Mays is Amazing
Taylor Mays has to be considered the nation's top underclassmen safety. At 6-foot-4 and 233 pounds, boasting a 405-pound bench press max and track-like speed, he's a dominating figure.
The sky appears to be the limit for Mays who has yet to complete his first spring practice.
With so many acclamations come the comparisons to former Trojan greats, and more specifically Ronnie Lott.
Mays was the unfortunate victim of wearing No. 29 last year, arguably one of the ugliest numbers on a football field. It seemed only natural then for Mays to adopt No. 42 as his own, but he had other ideas.
"Coach Seto kind of joked around with me about wearing No. 42," Mays said after his post-practice stretches. "But that number doesn't really fit me, I'm actually just trying to be half the player Kevin Ellison is."
