Groves excited about young players

AuburnSports.com Auburn's 2007 defense will be built around the considerable skills of All-American defensive end Quentin Groves.
But during AU's recently concluded spring practice, Groves barely made an impact, at least in the three scrimmages and A-Day as he mostly watched his younger teammates from the sidelines.
That was especially tough during A-Day and the final scrimmage last week as the offense ran up and down the field against a defense depleted by injuries.
Groves was injury-free this spring but the defensive coaches held him out of most of the scrimmage snaps to better evaluate and teach a number of redshirt freshmen and underclassmen that will have to contribute this season.
