A&M prepares for scrimmage
With Texas A&M's first full scrimmage of the spring coming this Saturday the Aggies took to the practice fields Thursday and ran a situational scrimmage in preparation. A&M ran situations such as first-and-10's, third-and-short's and first-and-goal situations to name a few.
For most of the practice it was the defense that proved to be the best unit on the field as a combination of straight defensive line rushed and blitzes forced a ton of early whistles to save A&M quarterbacks from getting sacked.
Defensive ends Michael Bennett and Amos Gbunblee proved to be too quick off the edge on plenty of plays while tackles Kellen Heard, Henry Smith, Chris Smith and Lucas Patterson were too much up the middle.
Linebacker Misi Tupe also had a big day blitzing and also stuffing A&M running back Mike Goodson on a number of plays.
Tupe was also superb in pass coverage as he got out put big time hits on receivers over the middle. He also showed off his speed by running down Goodson on the sideline.
