Flashback: Spring Practice Week 1
With three of 15 spring practice sessions in the books, Kent State head coach Doug Martin has been pleased with what he's seen so far out of the Golden Flashes.
"I like the intensity," said Martin after Monday's workout. "The guys are flying around and there's a lot of excitement and carryover."
There might not be anybody more excited than Martin with the play of the wide receivers in the first week of spring camp.
"I've been pleased with our receiver play so far, which was one of our weaknesses coming out of last year," he said. "We've got some kids that are making plays and stepping up. Aaron Robinson, the freshman has been playing really well, Shawn Bayes and Phil Garner and Leneric Muldrow too; so, that's been pleasing."
Martin is encouraged by other parts of the offense, too. Eugene Jarvis returns at running back, but the Golden Flashes were looking to add depth to the position. They may have found that in sophomore Greg Keys, who moved back to offense after a year in the defensive backfield.
