Jeanpierre optimistic about shift to O-Line
The only person more optimistic than Lemuel Jeanpierre about his shift from defensive tackle to offensive guard is head coach Steve Spurrier.
"I predict he'll be a starter by the first game next year against Louisiana-Lafayette," Spurrier said. "(He'll play) guard but he can play tackle too. We're trying to find our best athletes to get on the field."
Jeanpierre was approached by the USC coaching staff about the move in order the both help a struggling offensive line and clear space on a defensive line that has received an abundance of new players this spring, with more on the way come the fall.
"I talked with Coach Spurrier last week," Jeanpierre said. "He said it would be an opportunity to help the team. I told him I would love to do that. I made the move after the scrimmage on Friday."
