The Missouri defense finally got fed up. The Tiger D jumped out to a 22-2 lead and virtually shut down the celebrated offense in Mizzou's second spring scrimmage on Saturday morning. Did the D finally, William Moore was asked, kind of have its day?

"Hold on," Moore answered. "Did you say kind of?"

All right, completely. This day was all about Missouri's defense.

The first-team offense went three-and-out on its first two series. The defense forced three turnovers, including a Willy Mo pick of Chase Daniel. And the Tiger offense, which has stolen the headlines all spring, did not penetrate the 40-yard line until Chase Patton hit Jared Perry with a 39-yard rainbow for the lone touchdown of the day.

"It was fun to see them do that," said Gary Pinkel. "That's what a good defensive football team does. That's what you want to see as a head coach."
