Gratz, Richardson honored in Piscataway
PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Dwayne Gratz was all smiles as he stepped forward on his hometown turf Sunday afternoon from the sea of white taking over Rutgers Stadium.
The 5-foot-11, 167-pound cornerback had just been named the most valuable defensive back at the Piscataway Nike Training Camp after a strong showing in the drills and the hour-long one-on-one session to close the camp.
Sunday's camp concluded a two-day scour for the finest talent in the Northeast, which brought together a total of 26 prospects with confirmed interest in UConn. It also signified the continuation of success for those targets, with Gratz and Marlton (N.J.) Cherokee quarterback Demetrius Richardson named the most valuable players at their position.
