The recruitment for Cooper turned into quite an in-state battle down the stretch as Auburn and Alabama both hotly pursued the athletic lineman. Even though he grew up following the Tide, it was the Tigers that won out in the end.

AuburnSports.com spoke with Cooper about his recruitment, his reasons for choosing Auburn, his thoughts on being part of the No. 1 OL class, and more in the sixth profile story of the 2007 Tiger signees.

On his Auburn workout regime:
I've been sticking strictly to it. It was rough to start off with. It's a lot more reps then what I'm used to. But once I got used to it, it's good. I can tell a difference. I'm re-shaping. I'm still weighing between 290 and 295 but I'm leaner than I was before.

I may put on another five or 10 pounds. Whatever coach Nall wants me to weigh, that's what I'll wind up being. Right now, I'm feeling pretty good.
