Hawthorne on the road back from tragedy
It was exactly three months ago that Tim Hawthorne's life almost came to a short and tragic end.
Auburn's redshirt freshman wide receiver was with four other passengers in a Nissan Pathfinder that flipped on I-85, killing his friend and fellow AU student Claude Reese. Hawthorne managed to walk away from the accident, but not without some serious injuries and deeper, emotional scars.
It's been a slow healing process for Hawthorne since the tragedy.
"As you go through life, you have different obstacles you have to overcome," said Hawthorne. "This is one of the things that I've had to deal with in my life. I'll never forget about it but I feel like it's made me a stronger person."
