Duke has gotten off to a great start in building its 2008 recruiting class, but with a limited number of scholarships available because of recent larger classes, spots are getting a little thin.

Duke still has need for linebackers and one of the most recent Blue Devil targets to receive a scholarship offer is outside linebacker/defensive end Chris Johnson of Virginia Beach (Va.) Tallwood.

Joining Duke so far in offering a scholarship to the 6-4, 225 pounder are Army, Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois, East Carolina, Kent State, and Syracuse, but Johnson says a couple of other ACC programs are showing pretty serious interest.
