USCFootball.com Three months ago Ronald Johnson found himself in a pitch black room in the middle of the afternoon.
He was far from sleeping; in fact, he couldn't be more awake. With a flip of a switch the lights snapped on and a tennis ball was flying at his head.
"That's how I worked on getting my hands as good as possible," Johnson said about the hand-eye coordination drills he would do with his high school coach. "It definitely makes catching a football during the day easier."
Fast-forward to Monday afternoon and the incoming freshman is calmly catching bullets from the likes of John David Booty and Mark Sanchez during USC's voluntary seven-on-seven summer workouts.
