Cyclones are on re-emerging DE
A player who originally signed with a Big East program out of high school a couple of years back is set to re-emerge this fall on the plains of Kansas. Defensive end Markus White has taken the long road from his Florida home to Butler Community College and he intends to have it lead him back to Division I football in 2008 and beyond.
White is a 6-foot-4, 245-pound strongside DE who signed with Rutgers as a 2006 prospect out of Lake Worth (Fla.) Leonard High School. He failed to qualify and spent last fall in New Jersey, close to Rutgers, trying to get a passing SAT test score.
One of those schools was Iowa State with its designated hitter for the Kansas JUCOs, assistant coach Shawn Raney, watching White in a spring practice workout at Butler CC.
