Aggies hit the field for first day of August camp
Texas A&M opened August camp Monday in the McFerrin Athletic Center before moving outdoors onto the practice fields adjacent to the new indoor facility. The Aggies must begin practice in helmets and shorts according to the NCAA "acclimation period" for college football August practice.

The first day saw a lot of individual drills indoors before heading outdoors to perform team drills. Franchione was able to get a glimpse of a lot of the old players, but he especially paid attention to the new members of his team in their first practice at A&M.
"Those freshmen went through a total Coach Fran practice indoctrination today, and that's a little bit of sticker shock and practice shock and everything else with the amount of reps and the pace that we move at," Franchione said.
